    Food Research and Development Institute, Plovdiv, Plovdiv, Bulgaria.The paper considers a model and an algorithm for predicting the thermal regime in work (home) accommodation with radiant heating. The algorithm allows the analysis and design of cost-efficient option for realization of this type of heating.

    The modern world is facing two challenges – firstly, the energy crisis related to fuel the other – environmental degradation, especially in the form of air pollution and its consequences – climate change. The regulations demand specifically a significant reduction of sulphur oxide combinations (SOx), carbon dioxide (CO2) and nitrogen oxide combinations (NOx).

    The burner of the ship’s steam boilers is a device in which air is mixed with fuel with the purpose of burning and supplying heat power. A continuous combustion process of gas and liquid fuels is ensured by means of burners.

    Torque and speed measurement has always been a great challenge for many industries such as aviation, shipbuilding and automotive industry. These forces are of substantial importance for the research of the deformation processes developing in the modern marine diesel engines. The values of these forces provide the input data for calculating the overall strength of ship power plants. Continuous monitoring of these parameters while the ship is in service ensures safe operation of all machinery, reduces the risk of unplanned repair works and improves the engine performance in view of low fuel consumption and reduction of CO2 and NOx emissions.
