The effectiveness of the organization depends largely on the ability of managers, employee involvement in clear strategic orientations and its integrated culture. A successful management system of the organization is no longer dependent just on a process approach and continuous improvement. Increasingly, risk and opportunity management is at the forefront, taking into account the requirements of the business environment, particularly the requirements of the largest buyers of the company’s products. It is very important for the organization to incorporate risk management into its operations, not only to reduce the negative consequences but also to increase its business opportunities. The paper presents the company’s cooperation with one of the largest motorcycle manufacturers in the world – BMW Group, which took place while the company was introducing a new steel frame for the BMW F 800 S motorcycle in global markets. Due to the right approach including a positive risk, compliance with the requirements of the SPQM (Supplied Part of Quality Management) and last but not least our ardent desire to cooperate with BMW, the company has been given the opportunity to become the supplier of complex components for BMW and other large manufacturers in this industry.

Planning the innovative products includes both a technical and commercial evaluation. Suppose, an organization is looking for a new product and has several alternatives that finish initial screening at the same time. Sometimes the organization will have enough resources to develop and market all of these innovations, but usually resources are limited and one product is being chosen above the others. So we need some simple methods to compare products and choose the best. There are several ways of comparing the products, one of this is Quality function deployment QFD and Break even point BEP method. The goal of this paper is commercial evaluation with Break even point method as method for comparing the products and QFD method usage on the theory and practice base.

For companies, rapid prototyping is a powerful tool for conceptualization, form and fit review, functional analysis, and pattern generation. These applications are also relevant to the manufacturing process. The ability of the development, construction and prototype department is today, in a strong competitive field, very important for the development and existence of the company. The paper will present an example of good practice and the use of rapid prototyping technologies in very complex steel components – rear frame of the motorcycle BMW F 800 S. This article will present the use of technologies of rapid prototyping with a view to presenting a prototype to BMW customer at the stage of the decision on the selection of a supplier.
