Research of carbon fiber composite characteristics and performance modes for agricultural engineering applications
The study investigates the influence of carbon fiber content (10, 15, and 20 wt.%) on the physico-mechanical and tribological properties of polyamide-6-based carbon fiber reinforced plastics intended for agricultural machinery applications. The composites were manufactured by extrusion and tested for compressive strength, friction coefficient, wear resistance, abrasive wear resistance, and hardness. The results showed that increasing the carbon fiber content improved strength and wear resistance while reducing the coefficient of friction and contact temperature. The CPA-6-20 composite showed the best overall performance, combining high strength, low friction and superior wear resistance. The obtained results confirm the potential of carbon fiber reinforced polyamide-6 composites for use in friction units and structural components of agricultural machinery.
