The possibility of using hollow spheres to create highly porous materials (HPM) based on fine powders is shown. In the process of obtaining HPM, fine powder acts as a matrix, hollow spheres are used as a pore-forming agent. At the same time, in the initial state, hollow spheres are formed in the form of bead-shaped polystyrene granules (PSG) with a coated shell of fine aluminum oxide powder, followed by the removal of PSG during sintering. The shell prevents the integration of spherical voids into a single system of large pores, providing high purification fineness. It is confirmed that this technology provides an increase in throughput at a given fineness of purification.

A method for determining the local permeability of powder filtering materials (PFM) based on the measurement of gas-flows sequentially passing through the measuring head and different areas of the measured object (sample, product), and a device for its implementation are described. The device is characterised by simplicity of execution and can be used both in laboratory and production conditions. By the average value of localised flow rates the throughput capacity of the whole product can be estimated.

On the filter for fine air purification example the possibilities of additive technologies are shown, which allow to simplify and facilitate significantly the product development process, in particular, the filtering purpose. The results of 3-D modeling of the filter design, as well as 3-D modeling and 3-D printing of the tooling for studying the properties of filter elements to the filter and their structural elements (except for the filter layer) are given. The possibility of questions operative solution in case of adjustment necessity of tooling designs and filter elements at additive technologies application is noted.

The process of obtaining bronze powders of grade BrSn5Zn5Pb5, obtained by the method of induction melting and spraying of the metal melt with an inert gas, has been studied. It is known that in the production of BrSn5Tsn5Pb5 powder, the main losses of zinc occur during the melting of the components. To study the possibility of reducing zinc losses in the melt, a zinc-containing composite alloying material has been developed. Its effect on the chemical composition of BrSn5Zn5Pb5 powders obtained by induction melting and spraying the melt with an inert gas has been studied.

Information is given on the study of the process of obtaining two-layer copper permeable powder-fiber materials, based on the activation of the fiber sintering by finely dispersed powder particles process, which are also used to form a thin filter layer. It has been confirmed that the activation of the fiber sintering process by finely dispersed powder particles ensures high-quality consolidation of metal fibers. The optimal ratios between copper fibers, polyvinyl alcohol used for applying fine particles to the fibers, and copper powder have been determined.

In the paper consider materials for the rapid prototyping (RP) of experimental samples of filtering materials with an orthotropic structure based on woven nets (FMWN) assembled together with test-form and with using of 3D printing. RP made it possible to reduce the labor intensity of the process, primarily by eliminating the operation of sealing samples when using a traditional test form, as well as making the test form and the samples themselves. The data obtained allowed us to conclude that the use of 3D-printing is promising in further work for the manufacture of test form for studying the properties of filtering materials.

Information on a small-size installation for production of atomized powders of copper-based alloys is presented. The process of obtaining pulverized powders of BrSn10Ph1 and BrSn5Zn5Pb5 grades by induction melting and melt gas atomization, intended for hardening of new and restoration of worn surfaces by gas-flame coating, as well as protection against corrosion of parts is studied. The quality of the coatings obtained using the manufactured powders has been confirmed
