The results of development of the technology for manufacturing samples of insulators made of alumina ceramic with an aluminum oxide content of up to 95% are presented. The maximum tensile strength of the produced insulators has been investigated. The structures of the chip of the ceramic insulator surface have been obtained. It is shown that a change in the aluminum oxide content by 8-10% leads to an increase in the strength properties of the product by 1.5 times. The developed technology can be used to produce high-strength dielectric products, for example, antenna rod insulators, applied in the field of electrical engineering, radio engineering and other industries.

The investigation results of the production process of powder permeable materials (PPM) by forming thin permeable layers by means of ion-plasma sputtering method in a vacuum with the use of removable agents have been presented. The method makes it possible to obtain a continuous coating on the surface of the porous substrate. The layer formation on the surface of the porous substrate is provided by the use of the removable agent. After its removal, the layer sputtered on its surface remains an independent unit in the structure of the twolayer permeable material. The coating applied to the substrate has an open porosity.

The report focuses on the process of obtaining closed cell aluminum foam by introducing a composite material obtained by high energy mechanical treatment in a planetary mill into the melt. In contrast to known methods, the paper describes the foaming performed by introducing compressed precursors based on aluminum into the melt. Air-atomized aluminum powder and titanium hydride were used as raw materials for the production of precursors, AK5M2 silumin melt was used for the basis. Implementation of these works does not require the creation of a protective atmosphere and equipment for hot pressing. Photographs of the samples’ appearance and study results have been presented. It has been shown that the method of introducing mechanocomposites into the melt may be used for the manufacture of closed cell aluminum foam.

A method of obtaining filter materials from metal powders intended to significantly improve the uniformity of properties along their working surface has been described. The method is easy to perform and is based on granulating the initial powders by the porogen through transferring it into an aqueous solution. It eliminates the segregation of porogen in the bulk of the charge during the implementation of technological operations and enables the automation of the pressing process.

The results of the development of a process for the production of powder porous materials (PPM) based on a granular mechanically activated aluminum oxide powder have been presented. The dynamics of the particle size change of alumina powder depending on the time of mechanical activation by means of a high-energy mill of planetary type has been studied. The development results of permeable materials based on granular mechanically activated oxide ceramic powder have been presented. The developed PPMs are applied for liquid and gas filtration, production of calibration elements for control and measuring devices and equipment.

The paper shows the results of testing the obtaining process of filtering material based on metal powders and fibers by electrocution sintering. The equipment design and manufacturing techniques of test samples are presented; experimental samples of filtering materials based on powders of tin-phosphor bronze BrO10F1 and stainless steel 12X18H10T fibers have been manufactured. Method implementation requires no special equipment: a common spot welding machine has been used. Photographs of appearance and structure of the samples and the results of studying their properties have been presented: porosity, permeability coefficient, pore sizes. It has been shown that the materials manufactured by electrocution sintering possess a satisfactory complex of filtering properties and may be used for purification of liquids and gases.
