The problem of air pollution with fine particulate matter and aerosols is more than topical and extremely serious. There is a need to develop and build reliable geographically distributed air quality monitoring networks to enable real-time data collection. The analysis of such data would help identify the origin of the particles and timely operational measures by the authorities. The research aims at the development of a mobile modular station with autonomous power supply and the experimental feasibility study and as a first step in the construction of a complete network.

Measuring pollutant gases for real-time air quality monitoring is a challenging task that claims a lot of time of observation and large numbers of sensors [1]. Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) equipped with different micro-sensors have been introduced for air quality monitoring, as they can offer new approaches and research opportunities in air pollution and emission monitoring instead of ground-based monitoring systems [2]. UAVs with mobile monitoring devices are an effective, flexible and alternative mean to collect air pollutant concentration data [3]. Hence, deployment of a fleet of UAVs could be considered as an acceptable alternative for the purpose of air monitoring [4]. The aim of this paper is to elaborate performance capabilities of UAVs for effective monitoring of air pollution, providing the ability to measure air pollutants with high sensitivities.

The study deal with the functioning of energy objects in the Baikal natural territory and they impact on the ecosystem of Lake Baikal. It is shown that pollutants have a major impact on the atmosphere from where can spread over long distances and leached from the air to the water and soil surfaces. The role of energy sector of the Baikal natural territory in the impact on the lake ecosystem has been determined.

In order to make better decisions in the precision agriculture the measurement of air pollution parameters such as PM10, NOx, SO2, CO, O3 and agriculture parameters such as air temperature, humidity, soil moisture and leaf wetness are of crucial importance. Making analysis using different AI technics based on these parameters can bring better yield and quality in the food production process. In this paper, we present our approach in building an environmental air quality monitoring system as a support for precision agriculture by using Arduino [5] open-source electronics platform.

Air pollution problems in urban areas mainly can be connected with the high amounts of toxic exhaust emissions, generated from the growing use of vehicles that use fossil fuels. Roads in urban areas are full with vehicles, and their management is important not just for smoothing traffic flows, but also for reduction of air pollution. Various ways could be considered in which traffic management can affect local air pollution. But, is not just traffic management that should be considered solely. Attention should be given to the behavior of the drivers, which also has his impact on air pollution levels. Therefore, the purpose of this paper is to show the importance that traffic control and management as well as drivers’ behavior together have on exhaust emission pollution. In addition to that, measures with their effects in the both categories: traffic management and drivers’ behavior are proposed.

Measurement device, specifically developed to capture and quantify low-amplitude surface photo-charge effect signals. It can also modulate and power a laser in various modes, and extract the processed signal as an output. The device is compatible with all of our surface photo-charge effect-based systems. The device is part of a portable system for detection of pollution in fogs or aerosols.

Significant part of air pollution control strategy can be achieved through measures in urban transport planning. The need for this analysis is based on the fact that transport planning decisions are often made without proper consideration of their air pollution consequences. This inevitably deteriorates air quality in urban areas, particularly in those areas which already have problem with urban air pollution. The paper deals with transport planning approach towards reducing air pollution and this approach is analyzed through short-term and long-term measures, recommended for Bitola. Implementation of these measures has a potential to contribute for improvement of the current problem with air pollution.
