In commercial kitchens, deep fryers are essential for frying various foods, particularly frozen products. These appliances, available in multiple models and capacities, typically use gas or electricity and utilize significant amounts of cooking oil. For instance, a standard commercial deep fryer may have a cooking chamber with a capacity of 22 liters of oil. However, over time and with repeated use, the quality of the cooking oil deteriorates, leading to the formation of waste oil. This waste oil affects the quality of fried foods and presents significant environmental challenges. The improper disposal of waste oil contributes to environmental pollution, necessitating businesses’ careful management and disposal. In response to these concerns, our research and development (R&D) efforts have focused on designing and developing a novel eco-friendly commercial deep fryer with an integrated filter system. Unlike existing models in our product range, this innovative deep fryer is designed to achieve energy savings and reduce the amount of waste oil produced. Specifically, the new deep fryer has demonstrated energy savings of at least 25% compared to our current models. Additionally, this fryer can operate using alternative solid oil, offering further flexibility and sustainability in commercial kitchen operations.

The special design process of an efficient residential house energy saving energy system is presented in this work. The main objectives are to achieve major energy cost reductions, providing safe house and reliable service. Thus, the essentials tool of the system will focus on providing useful information for the user by continuous monitoring and recording of the consumption behaviour of the operating appliances, also will raise early alarms in case of fault detection by high temperature monitoring. The outcomes of monitoring and analyzing the real power demand of group of typical house appliances is then used as a case-study for proposing further tools such as consumption forecast, tariff comparing and scheduling tools. Rule based system was designed for efficient and reliable operation control of house energy system with distributed energy source and storage units. Lab-View software package is used for implementation of most of the proposed algorithms which have been tested by variation of possible operating conditions. The results have shown that 22.75% energy savings can be achieved by applying the proposed tools and control strategies on typical home appliances. Modification of the system is recommended to include wide range of consumer’s types such as industrial and commercial sectors and to include more than one type of distributed energy sources.

For the analyzed LNG carrier with Rankine regenerative feed water cycle, energy analysis is presented. The intention was to determine auxiliary flow streams from the useful ones. Auxiliary energy flow supports plant operation on the one side, but reduces overall efficiency on the other. Steam generators energy streams are divided into two major groups, for the main and auxiliary stream consumers. The steam system test was performed by varying main propulsion shaft revolutions. The required thermodynamic data are collected at various steam system locations. For considered plant energy flow streams components are explained and analyzed. In this paper the recommendations for possible energy savings for the mentioned propulsion plant are proposed.

Energy-saving by recovery of value-added materials from complex dispersions by using semi-permeable membranes has been proved world-wide. The effect is related to fundamental knowledge of fluid flow and mass transfer in complex fluids close to membrane interfaces. Innovative biotechnologies for value-added products such as exopolysaccharides or antioxidants benefit by such explorations in preserving the biological activity of the target components. The paper presents a solution of theoretical model of a stirred tank reactor (STR) Biostat equipped with membrane immersed in a non-Newtonian model solution of exopolysaccharide, e.g. glucomannan and biomass. CFD methodology is employed to reveal original data on shear deformation rates and shear stress at the membrane interface, as well as to predict the average mass transfer coefficient related to the boundary layer at the membrane surface based on the flow information obtained. The results are compared with similar data reported for conventional systems with different impeller and systems with external membranes.

This paper looks at the question of reducing power consumption and improving energy efficiency in the technological process of distribution liquid feeds in a pigsty. There is suggested a way of saving energy by optimizing the power of electrical motor of centrifugal pump supplying the feed into the piepline. The energy saving effect is estimated and reducing power up to 10% is shown.

Almost a third of the world’s consumption of fuel and energy resources make up the loss, that is inappropriately expended energy. It is impossible to completely eliminate the inefficient use of resources and energy. However, the implementation of energy saving programs and integrated application of energy efficient technologies leads to a reduction in the consumption of fuel and energy resources. Russia’s place in the field of energy efficiency among the economically developed countries are not the most promising, and it is determined by different factors.
