As a rule, parts that are made of titanium alloys are critical parts that can work in corrosive medium, accept alternating loads, have certain parameters of surface quality and surface layer. A finite-element simulation of a burnishing process of titanium alloy Ti-6Al-4V (an alloy that is widely used in medicine, as an example in endoprostheses) with/without ultrasonic loading at various processing speeds was carried out. It is established that when burnishing with ultrasonic vibrations of the tool, it is possible to obtain a qualitatively different picture of the distribution of residual stresses in the surface layer of the part. The features of the contact interaction of the tool with the workpiece surface were established for ultrasonic vibrations of the tool. For finite element simulation two types of ultrasonic vibrations were chosen (according to real ultrasonic tool): longitudinal and longitudinal-torsion vibrations. It is shown that the use of ultrasound can reduce the temperature of the deformation zone, which is extremely important when processing titanium alloys. It was also found that the use of metal-containing lubricant can improve the surface quality  arameters after ultrasonic burnishing.

Because of the surface oxide film’s presence, a negative electric potential and formation of the disadvantageous residual strains under the galvanic film’s putting on soft metals and alloys, there are the coming of considerable technological complications. This is obstructive to the good interaction between the films and main metal. In this case it is expedient the technological combination the galvanic film of the surface with surface plastic deformation. In this case, the surface plastic deformation is realized by the tools with radial feed of the deforming elements.

The processing of the grooves for a putting gaskets in the hydraulic holes is embarrassed because the high requirements for their precision and roughness. In this case like a method for finish processing it is suitable using surface plastic deformation. This method ensures as the quality of the machining surface as higher productivity.

Achieving the appropriate characteristics of treated surfaces by SPD is not only entails with choose of relevant scheme solutions, deforming elements, regimes and conditions of processing, but also with the specifics of the re-implementation of the technological impact. It is reasonable to assume that re-implementation of the technological impact is identical to its previous implementation, if with that is achieved only generates additional smoothing effect due to the increased multiplicity of the metal deformation in the same area of the treated surface.

Like a method for a finishing processing, the surface plastic deformation improves the exploitation characteristics of the ma-chining surfaces and increases their qualities. Moreover – it achieves sizable decrease of the machining times in comparison with the other finishing methods. The using of combined tools creates circumstances for simultaneously processing with the prior machining, which leads to augmentation of the machining productivity.
