In recent years, 3D printing has gradually appeared in people’s field of vision. The addition of wood in thermoplastics improve their some mechanical properties such as tensile and bending modulus without affecting its biodegradability. The decrease in the cost of filaments may enlarge the utilization of biodegradable filaments after the disposal in near future. Smallscale elements used in furniture production, such as connector fittings or fasteners for shelves, may give functional and structural
properties without significant investment. 3D-printed connections are suitable when the the production complex shaped connectors and quick disassembly are required, to reduce the product’s weight and price

This study presented a sustainable construction material, wood-cement briquette, for construction indust. Wood-cement briquette has significant advantages as compared to the traditional cement briquettes such as lower carbon footprint, lower cost, easy production, environmental friendliness, sustainability. Wood-cement briquettes have a good thermal insulation and sound insulation than traditional briquettes. In addition to wood, other lignocellulosic materials such as hemp and flax can be also used in the producrion. Especially, it is a better material for buildings located in earthaqure -prone areas because the relatively elastic structrure of wood makes it a good material in regions prone to seismic activity. Wood-cement briquettes are suitable material for single or dublex buildings. It is estimated that its use will considerably increase in construction industry in near future. This study, characteristics of raw materials used in wood-cement briquette, the physical and mechanical properties and potential uses of wood-cement briquettes are given in this review study.

This study focused on the fire-retardant treatment of wood and wood-based composites using various methods. The recent developments in the fire-retardant standards and classification of wood and wood-based composites were reviewed. Most commonly used fire-retardants and commercial application methods of fire retardants such as boron compounds and phosphates to improve fire resistance of wood and wood based composites were explained. Furthermore, fire-retardant mechanism was informed. Novel nanomaterials used in the fire resistance of wood and wood-based composites were introduced. Significant criteria in choosing of the suitable fire retardants for wood and wood-based composites were explained

The mechanical properties bending strength and modulus of elasticity in bending of a new type plywood for construction, based on black locust wood, have been investigated in relationship with the bonding technological factors. The experimental investigation is based on an optimal composite design with four control factors – temperature, pressure, bonding duration and specific glue consumption. Regression models describing the dependence of bending strength and modulus of elasticity in bending on the investigated technological bonding parameters are estimated. The obtained experimental and model-based results are analysed and discussed

The city of Korça is situated in the South-East part of Albania. Korça’s climate is partly Mediterranean and Continental, characterized by cold winter and relatively hot summer. The average annual temperature is 10.6 oC, while the average rainfall is 720 mm. Heating of Korça is not an unknown issue, although it still remains unsolved despite many efforts in this sector. This paper shortly describes the building typology and their thermal characteristics in Korça. After defining the heating demand of the Korça city, where as input in the model are used demographic data, climate data, building typology and heating system. Energy scenarios for heating of the city rely on a
baseline scenario where wood is used as an energy source. Heat pump and natural gas energy scenario have been used for this comparative study. Energy and cost analysis for three scenarios are discussed in this paper.
