Abstract
One of the main problems in appraiser work is to determine speed the car immediately before the accident, basing only on the collision of two vehicles or collision of a car with an obstacle. One of the research directions providing a solution to this problem are analysis of the energy necessary to cause permanent deformation. Since the early ‘70s used was the method based on the analysis of the permanent deformation depth, that are defined as proportional to the force causing deformation.
