Abstract

Relations are developed estimating risks of in-transit uncoupling of cars caused by technical malfunction depending on the number of cars in a train and haulage distance. The obtained results allow assessing safety level in international transit corridors where each local railway administration shares liability for damage to cargo and railway equipment in the course of transportation through their area of responsibility.
