The vehicle directional stability depends on various factors, such as tire construction, their lateral stiffness, the rapport HL, the pressure and etc. The study presents a research of the influence of lateral stiffness of the suspension system and tire on vehicle stability.
Three types of vehicle models were used by considering the degrees of freedom. The lateral tire-road forces are modeled using Pacejka’s magic formula. The behavior of car stability has been simulated with MATLAB software. The results give the possibility to investigate the vehicle directional stability and the laterals dynamics process.
