The shortcomings of existing waste-processing furnaces have been analyzed, and a new furnace design for electroslag remelting and combustion of waste, developed at Akaki Tsereteli State University, is proposed. It is demonstrated that its use enables the combustion and remelting of individual waste components without causing environmental pollution from combustion products.
