High pressure die casting mould renovation by cladding

    Machines. Technologies. Materials., Vol. 14 (2020), Issue 3, pg(s) 114-116

The paper presents the results of the research of the evaluation of the overlay layers quality made by the fusible arc methods. By applying arc welding methods, it is possible to significantly extend the life of injection molds and thus significantly reduce production costs. The newly formed layers must meet a number of requirements so as not to degrade the advantages of high-pressure injection technology over conventional casting technologies. High pressure casting solves most of the problems of conventional casting technologies such as: porosity of the casting, high surface roughness, long casting time, inability to produce thin cross-sections and low dimensional accuracy. During exploitation, the mold surface is damaged, mostly by thermal cracking and combined adhesive-abrasive wear. Material used for high pressure die casting permanent mold is a medium alloyed hot tool steel Uddeholm Dievar. Layers were made using three types of filler materials on the Fronius TransTig 4000. To eliminate the effect of mixing, three layers were made. The quality of the deposits was assessed by non-destructive and destructive tests.

  • RESEARCH ON RELIABILITY OF PLOWS OPERATING IN MOUNTAINOUS CONDITIONS

    Machines. Technologies. Materials., Vol. 10 (2016), Issue 3, pg(s) 7-9

Characteristics of operational reliability of agricultural plows, operating in mountainous conditions were determined on the basis of theoretical and experimental studies. It is shown that these conditions adversely affect their workability, cause intense wear of working parts of plows, and lead to failures. For this purpose, special coefficient was introduced which takes into account the impact of mountainous conditions on reliability.

A structural-logical scheme for reliability calculations was determined, and at the level of invention, a fundamentally new plow with variable widths was developed, allowing a better use of its operation in the mountainous conditions.

  • MONITORING TECHNICAL CONDITION OF ENGINE BASED ON THE RESULTS OF DIAGNOSTICS TRIBOTECHNICAL

    Machines. Technologies. Materials., Vol. 9 (2015), Issue 8, pg(s) 46-48

The article deals with monitoring of chemical elements during lifetime of military vehicles engine oil. Tribotechnical diagnosis is non-destructive and non-dismantling diagnostic method used lubricating oil as a source of information about the processes and changes in the mechanical systems to which it is applied. The paper deals with mathematical processing, tracking and analyzing data obtained from measurement tribo – diagnostics. For the analysis were used following methods AES and FTIR to monitor chemical elements, additives and contamination in engine oil. The increase in the metals and reduce the amount of additives were specially observed. The results were modelled using mathematical models to the value of the correlation coefficient R. The models can be used to predict the engine oil in the same or similar aggregates petrol engines.
