Developing spreadsheet model for organizing replenishment process in small and medium enterprises

    Industry 4.0, Vol. 8 (2023), Issue 2, pg(s) 57-59

Spreadsheet software is commonly used in small and medium enterprises for a wide range of processes including analyzing the collected data, monitoring over the dynamics in data values, grouping and sorting, automating daily tasks, etc. Its automation features allow applying additional processing of the available data to make helpful suggestions for the managers. This paper describes the steps to develop a tool based on a spreadsheet model that could help managers in the procurement process. The main features of the presented model are: calculating safety stock based on a chosen rule; suggesting the reorder point and the latest reorder date for the articles; marking articles in different colors for the purposes of prioritization and grouping in one delivery from the same supplier. The consumption forecast is calculated using extrapolated historical data. The tool could be used by the procurement managers in order to automate their daily tasks on monitoring the stock levels. The model is adjustable and could include additional data sources (i.e. pre ordered quantities, etc.) to increase its the accuracy or exclude some of the data sources (i.e. historical data on the consumption), using only preprocessed indicators (i.e. mean consumption) with tradeoffs on its accuracy.

  • Supply chain planning methodology for metals

    Machines. Technologies. Materials., Vol. 13 (2019), Issue 4, pg(s) 171-172

The paper contains the results of the study on the systematization and formalization of specialized approaches to planning supply chains of leading metal companies and comparison of these practices with the standard supply chain management models SCOR & CCOR & DCOR and GSCF. The paper defines the main directions of development of the methodology of supply chain planning in terms of its adaptation to the specifics of metals.

  • Industry 4.0 and supply chain interaction analysis with fuzzy analytical hierarchy process

    Machines. Technologies. Materials., Vol. 13 (2019), Issue 3, pg(s) 108-113

Industry revolution is not a new thing for the world and it has been coming up till the machines were invented. And now, Production authorities have discussed the Industry 4.0 which is combinations of the existing manufacturing and large technological innovations and also, Supply Chain perspective is changing that product flows will become regional. This research paper will firstly aim to clearly understand the Industry 4.0 and what kind of changes occurs into the Supply Chain Environment. The Second part of the Research will focus on the Performance Measurement and Decision Making Analyzing which comparison between before Industry 4.0 and after applications of Industry 4.0. Fuzzy Analytical Hierarchy Process Method is used for determination of comparison.

  • The determination of utilization levels of industrial 4.0 technologies a review on garment enterprises operating in Trabzon

    Industry 4.0, Vol. 4 (2019), Issue 1, pg(s) 53-56

The enterprises in today’s competition environment should obtain and use the technological production systems, qualified, and proper information media that industry 4.0 conditions necessitate. Because a new rival firm may start to use smart factory technology in every new day. In this research, some of the ready-made enterprises in Trabzon were examined by semi-structured face to face interview and natural observation techniques to determine the utilization levels of industrial 4.0 technologies. Besides, this research made suggestions for those enterprises about the innovations that can perform in the future. In conclusion, it can be understood that whether the enterprises reviewed have the operation and employee structure to use the smart factory system. The enterprises need to apply the lean production necessities into internal processes by vertical integration; afterward, the same enterprises need to apply the agile manufacturing strategies in the external processes by the horizontal integration to start to use industry 4.0.
