Contactless techniques for evaluating pressing shapes, as part of the Industry 4.0 framework, are increasingly adopted in industry. Springback assessment is critical for verifying the final geometry of automotive body panels. Although 2D photogrammetric methods have been in use for over a decade, 3D optical surface-scanning systems are now preferred due to their superior accuracy. This study evaluates cylindrical pressings with flat and hemispherical bottoms, fabricated from 1.6 mm thick DP800 dual-phase steel. Thickness distribution was measured using the GOM Scan 1 device. Experimental results were compared against numerical simulations performed in PamStamp software, employing the Vegter Lite yield criterion and Krupkowski hardening law. Real cups (50 mm diameter) were deep-drawn from 90 mm blanks on an Erichsen 145-60 testing machine, with plastic foil lubrication. The thickness profiles obtained from scanned data were directly compared with simulation predictions to assess model accuracy and springback behaviour.

Nowadays, a lot of emphasis is placed on the car safety. It’s very difficult to ensure the highest possible body strength using conventional tests. The correct testing method is the basis for the safety of the car bodies. It is less expensive and time-consuming to apply deformation characteristics testing to selected types of steel than to produce a complete body and then test its deformation properties. The three-point bending test makes it possible to determine the absorption potential of the selected sheet metal. The purpose of this article is to evaluate innovation potential of the multiphase Trip steel, which is used in the automotive industry for the body-in-white structural components, and deformation elements mainly.

Research on composite materials is nowadays developed on a global scale, because they have multipurpose applications. Composite materials are used in a wide range of industries. The most significant advantages of composite materials include st rength, stiffness, low fibre density (e.g. carbon fibre or glass fibre), the ability to make them into any shape required for the application. The paper deals with the possibilities of joining composite materials with metallic materials. The experimental part includes tests of the strength of the chosen type of adhesive and comparison of the individual results obtained by the experiment.
