During out work in a project related to European security, we have created various devices. One of them is a sensor for control of contaminations in the composition of fogs, which is first of its kind in the world. The development of such a sensor is important because in this project, artificially generated fogs with special additives are used for decontamination, and it is crucial to control the quantity of impurities in these fogs. In this work, different aspects of the operation of this sensor, its advantages and design considerations are discussed.

A method was developed for contactless evaluation of the number and diameter of droplets in a jet, by means of gravitational separation and measurement of an electrical signal from a laser-induced electromagnetic echo effect (EMEE), at several points of the jet. With it, only with modulated laser radiation, an electrical signal is induced. The measured value of the signal from this EMEE depends on the parameters of the fog (number and sizes of droplets). This signal is measured at several points of the jet, as the droplets must be in laminar flow. After measuring the signal at the first point, the signals at the previous points are subtracted from its value at each subsequent point, in order to separate the measured signal at each point and determine the change in fog parameters. The method represents an affordable and reliable alternative to existing fog characterization techniques.

Two novel types of electrochemical sensors were obtained by chemical deposition of Pt and MoO2 nanoparticles onto multi walled carbon nano tubes (MWCNT) and used for determination of frequently used pesticides clomazone and oxyfluorfen in aqueous media via differential pulse stripping voltammetry (DPSV). Clomazone was determined in 0.1 M phosphate buffer solution at pH 7.0 in the concentration range 0.61-20.56 ng cm-3, with LOQ = 0.61 and LOD = 0.38 ng cm-3. Oxyfluorfen was determined with good reproducibility (RSD <2.4%) in the concentration range 2.5-34.5 ng cm-3, with r = 0.99 and a LOQ of 1.5 ng cm-3. Results were in the same range measured by HPLC/DAD, which was used as comparative method. Structural characterization of the dopped MWCNT performed by Raman spectroscopy, field emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM), high-resolution transmission electron (HR-TEM), and X-ray crystallography revealed a preserved MWCNT structure decorated with well dispersed species of the platinum and MoO2 nanoparticles

In this study, the atmospheric electric charge changes were examined using an FET sensor. As is known, there are many resources that affect the global atmospheric cycle. The source is the sun in the most important of these resources. This study examined the effects of the sun on global atmospheric circuit.

This article provides a way to detect fatigue cracks in welded gearwheel at reinforcement dimensional cutting mechanism (flying shears) of rolling mill by analyzing the direct spectrum of vibration. This method is progressive and allows through regular vibration measurements to assess equipment condition and predict performance.

At the design of heat engines like Stirling engines are, it is possible to use not only classical crank mechanisms, but also non-conventional mechanisms. Engines with non-conventional mechanisms may have several advantages when used in practice, but the design calculation model is often more difficult. This paper deals with the design of the measuring system for the measurement and diagnostic of basic parameters of the thermal cycles in Stirling engine with nonconventional FIK mechanism, which was solved in the project VEGA: Nonconventional engine FIK – Stirling. The measuring system concept is applied to a special type of piston machines with swinging mechanism that is used in this instance of a Stirling engine type. Stirling engines are currently usually used as a drives of machines for production of the electricity. There are several types of mechanisms, which are suitable by design for use in a Stirling heat engine. FIK mechanism is a swinging system, which is characterized by circular motion of the central point of the swinging plate during the rotation of the shaft. Proposed measuring systems allows to confirm the functionality of the structural design of Stirling engine with a swinging plate and examine the thermodynamic phenomena conducted in the engine cylinders.

The paper presents a method using the electric tensometry. The electric tensometry is a method for measuring the deformations by using some transducers. These transducers turn the variation of a mechanical size into variations of an electric size. The principle of functioning of the resistance tensometric transducer is the modification of the electric resistance depending on the variation of the specific deformation.
