The purpose is improving the efficiency of the technological process of threshing and separating the grain pile in a multidrum threshing-separating device due to the substantiation of the technological modes of the work of threshing drums. The influence of technological parameters of the three-drum threshing-separating device of a grain-harvesting combine on the process of grain separation has been studied experimentally. Models of the grain separation process are obtained depending on the speed of rotation of the drums and the supply of technological material for threshing, based on the results of the experimental research. modeling the process of grain separation depending on the speed of rotation of the drums and the supply of technological material for threshing allows to determine the quantity and quality of the mass that each of the three drums separately threshed.

Maintaining of the combine harvesters in an efficient condition throughout the harvest season is an important task of technical service. The most important elements in the work of combine harvesters are their steering mechanisms, the performance of which must have a high degree of availability, especially of their hydraulic drives. The purpose of this study is to increase the operational reliability of the steering drives of the combine harvesters, based on the development of an improved method for diagnosing of their hydraulic drives. During the research, the methods of theoretical and experimental research were used, based on the theory of machine operation, hydraulics, as well as modern methods of experimental studies of hydraulic equipment. The data of the experimental studies were processed by statistical methods using a PC. Theoretically and experimentally, an improved method for diagnosing of the hydraulic drives has been developed with the aim to increase the technical readiness of combine harvesters and reduce the costs of their maintenance and repair. A new methodical approach and results of studies on the creation of a diagnostic system for the hydraulic drive of the combine harvester’s power steering have been developed.

Rice harvesting became recently a problem due to shortage of labor and, consequently, the increase of wages in Turkey. The aim of the study was the determination of relationship of combine harvester age and the grain losses during on paddy harvest. This study was conducted at the paddy production field planted with Karacadağ variety in Çınar District of Diyarbakır Province in 2013. The New Holland Combines which has same brand but different ages in series of 2002 model TC 56, 2006 model TC 56, 2007 model TC 56 and 2013 model TC 5070 were used in the field experiments. The header losses, which include shatter losses and cutter bar losses, threshing and separation losses, and cleaning losses were measured in the study. The total of these losses was evaluated as combine loss. According to the results, the harvest loss due to combine changed between 6.67% to 9.23%. The lowest harvesting loss was obtained in 2013 model TC 5070 combine series. This was followed by 2002 model TC 56 with 7.32% loss. This results show that the harvesting loss was not directly depended on combine age, it was affected by the factors such as combine adjustment and maintenance, operator skill, product yield, field conditions.

The purpose is improving the efficiency of the harvesting processes by the used combine harvesters; studying the dependence of the efficiency of the seasonal developments, price and useful life. The methodological basis of research is the account of combine’s life in determining the direct operating costs per one working hours.
The determination of depreciation for a certain period of the combine’s operation is proposed to exercise with the actual value of the reduction of its market (residual) value for this period. The model is developed and the cost of harvesting, depending on the market value, the technical condition and the planned annual loading harvester is calculated. Analysis of expected costs compared with the cost of grain harvesting would assess the economic risks acquiring combine harvester.
