The paper focuses on the degradation of molds that are used for the technology of high-pressure casting of Al and its alloys. The method of high-pressure casting of aluminum products is one of the widely used production methods, which at the same time meets the requirements for precision and productivity in the production of cars and various mechanical parts. In the high-pressure casting process, the molds are exposed to various thermal and mechanical loads, where the molds and their shaped parts are degraded. The paper presents the results of research focused on the use of duplex PVD coatings to increase the life of shaped parts of molds for high-pressure casting of Al and its alloys.

The paper presents the results of the research focused on the determination of the quality of adhesive joints of cold rolled sheets in the automotive industry. DC05 galvanized sheet was used for joints. A progressive type of adhesive used in the automotive industry was chosen. The shear and peel strength of the adhesive joints according to Winter were determined. The strength of the joints was determined depending on the cure temperature of the adhesive. After tests, the character of fracture surfaces of adhesive joints was evaluated.

The quality of the resulting surface treatment is influenced especially by the pre-treatment of the substrate, the design of the surface treatment such as the choice of the coating system, the method and the quality of application. From a variety of chemical surface pre-treatment methods, Bonderite chemical pre-treatment is at the forefront. This chemical pre-treatment is used at ambient temperature, phosphate-free. It forms a nano-ceramic protective layer on steel, zinc and aluminum surfaces. The use of Bonderite gives the coating a high quality, which shows good adhesion and excellent corrosion protection. Contribution is devoted to the evaluation of these properties

Physicomechanical and adhesion characteristics, specific surface energy of vacuum coatings formed on high-speed steels of the P6M5 type subjected to processing at cryogenic temperatures are investigated. The structural transformations occurring in vacuum coatings formed on steel substrates with subsequent processing at low temperatures were studied. A change in the tribological characteristics of titanium nitride coatings during subsequent processing in a cryogenic liquid is shown.

In the present work, the adhesion and physico-mechanical characteristics of heat-resistant vacuum coatings formed on steel substrates are investigated. An increase in the values of adhesion and physico-mechanical parameters of coatings formed from multicomponent compounds is established. The tribotechnical characteristics of coatings based on chromium carbonitride have been studied.

The paper presents results of research of the essential characteristics of two kinds of advanced coatings applied by HVOF technology. One studied coating: WB-WC-Co (60-30-10%) contains two types of hard particles (WC and WB), the second coating is ecofriendly alternative to the previously used WC-based coatings, called “green carbides” with the composition WC-FeCrAl (85-15%). In green carbides coating the heavy metals (Co, Ni, NiCr) forming the binding matrix in conventional wear-resistant coatings are replaced by more environmentally friendly matrix based on FeCrAl alloy. On the coatings was carried out: metallographic analysis, measurement of thickness, micro-hardness, adhesion, resistance to thermal cyclic loading and adhesive, abrasive and erosive wear resistance. There were also determined corrosion characteristics of the coatings in NaCl and SAR solutions.

The article deals with forming the adhesive bond of bodies at the crystal lattice level. There is offered a mathematical model for determining the adhesion wear. There are carried out laboratory tests for model validation. There is found that the amount of adhesive wear is nonline-arly dependent on the surface roughness inclination angle.
