    The article deals with the problem of wear of the train wheel crest and the conditions that affect the process of deformation of the material of the wheelset parts. Factors affecting wear are considered. It is shown that the resource of ridges depends on the nature and speed of chemical and physical processes. It was noted that in the center of destruction of the ridge, an increased content of carbon, oxygen and silicon was detected. It is established that the main way to reduce wear is to lubricate the comb in order to reduce the coefficient of friction.

    If the material from which the equipment is made is known, constant and periodic loads are known and the displacement of equipment points are measured by the dynamic model, it is possible to determine the forces that cause these displacements and deformations themselves. If the deformations are within acceptable limits, then the equipment operation continues, otherwise the equipment must be stopped to eliminate deformations; at best, deformation can be eliminated without stopping the equipment.

    This paper deals with dynamic analysis of bridge crane with single girder in order to determine material deformations in their main parts – cables and girder’s, while moving and carrying load. It is known that these are mostly loaded parts in crane, while they accept forces, moments and oscillations from lifting mechanism and load. Analysis will be accomplished using computer modeling and simulations. Work process of crane in the study is forward travel motion. It is assumed that this motion process makes major impact in the deformations of lifting cables and girders due to stress, oscillations, and negative effect of load swinging. The analysis will be concentrated in finding the nature of oscillations that acts on crane and finding the extent and form of materials stress and deformations that can cause fatigue, failures and accidents. Question is whether acting loads exceed elasticity limits, or there are plasticity deformations which lead to permanent damages. Results will be shown in the form of diagrams, contour stress and strain in cables and girders. They will be compared with experimental measurements. Conclusions of these analyses can be useful for design considerations and safety.

    The article is devoted to the calculation and verification of the shredding chamber of a two-shaft shredder for crushing of concrete, rubber, plastic and wood. In this work a model study of the shredding chamber of such type of shredder has been done. The studies of the mechanical load and behavior of the shredding chamber have been conducted through solving the equations describing the mechanical processes under operating conditions by the finite element method. For this purpose, a three-dimensional geometric model of the bottom of the chamber has been generated, which is discretized to a planned network of finite elements in the programming environment of ANSYS MECHANICAL APDL.

    The floating blocks with two cutting tools having cutting inserts placed opposite to one another are used when turning inner and outer long cylindrical surfaces. The article presents a theoretical research of the influence of the axial displacement of the cutting inserts and the stability of the floating block on precision of machining with variation of the depth of insertion. Obtained are dependencies for quantitative assessment of this influence as well as conditions for reducing it.
