Transit capacities of the South Caucasus transport corridor

    Trans Motauto World, Vol. 4 (2019), Issue 3, pg(s) 117-119

The volume of trade between East and West of the Eurasian continent takes place on the numerous routes. However, the Europe-Caucasus-Asia (TRACECA) transport corridor is most known to the world community.

The TRACECA program projects involve the integrated development of sea, railway and road transport. As the consolidating measures, the central concern is the unification of transport legislation of the participating countries, the liberalization of regulation of shared services, the solution of common market and social problems in the area of the environment, security and international integration.

Time of delivery, as well as transportation costs through the Europe-Caucasus-Asia corridor depend upon the successful solution of these challenges.

  • Transportation of liquefied fuel gas in containers

    Innovations, Vol. 7 (2019), Issue 2, pg(s) 84-86

Transportation from receiving terminals and condensed fuel gas production plants is accomplished by sea, railway and road transport using the standard (ISO) tank-containers, dedicated tanks and cryogenic semi-trailers.
Recently, the 20 ft and 40 ft tank containers, optimally adapted for multimodal transport have become commonplace.
The use of cryogenic semi-trailers with vacuum-perlite, polyurethane, multi-layer and combined insulation with a capacity of up to 54,000 liters of condensed fuel gas allows for creating a flexible and elastic delivery system to the market.

    Science. Business. Society., Vol. 4 (2019), Issue 2, pg(s) 55-57

Anaklia Port is Georgia’s first deep-water port. Anaklia is located on an important section of the Old Trade Road and represents a new
Silk Road’s key transport point linking China to Europe. Anaklia Deepwater Port will be built in several stages, and the process consists of 9 phases. The port is being built on the area of 400 hectares, and its construction and development cost is $ 2.5 billion. The port’s capacity is 100 million tons per year.
In the phase I, the capacity of the Anaklia deep-water port will reach 9.3 million tons. The first phase of the construction is planned to be completed by 2020, after which the port will have a capacity to handle ships of the panamax and post-panamx types. Anaklia Port will be able to become a leader in comparison with its competitors existing in the region, with the best road, rail and communications infrastructure and innovative equipment.

  • The methodological foundations for creating the small-capacity ports on the Black Sea coast of Georgia

    Trans Motauto World, Vol. 4 (2019), Issue 1, pg(s) 28-29

As of today, establishment of small port network has an important place in the development of small and medium businesses in maritime countries. They are among the most important tools having a positive impact on sustainable and equal development of small and medium businesses in the country. Small ports appear to us as the centers of regional economic activities. Export technology from a small port is is carried out much faster and easier compared to the large deep-water port hubs.
A small port equipped with appropriate infrastructural facilities may also combine functions of harbor required for small fishing vessels and yachts. A small port can easily develop the yacht and cruise tourism.

LOGISTICAL RISKS OF MARITIME TRANSPORT PROCESSES

    Trans Motauto World, Vol. 3 (2018), Issue 2, pg(s) 84-86

Risk exists objectively in any marine enterprise, since the human presence of a person on the sea is accompanied both by circumstances caused by the irresistible forces of nature and directly by activities in the sphere of trading navigation. Risk management in the logistics supply chain is a complex multidimensional problem addressed in the process of identifying and assessing the risks and taking measures of protection against them.
In logistics, risk refers to the likelihood of an insured event occurring, as well as the possible damage caused by this event. Risk and an insured event can be described by using methods of the reliability theory. In this case, reliability is the probability of operation of the logistics system with failure or with no failure.
In order to identify rational methods and techniques for insurance, it is advisable to construe the logistics system as the process of movement of material resources.

PROSPECTS FOR THE TRANSPORTATION OF LIQUIFIED GAS FROM THE CASPIAN REGION TO EUROPE

    Science. Business. Society., Vol. 3 (2018), Issue 3, pg(s) 122-123

Georgia proposes to supply Caspian liquefied gas to the European market via the alternative route – by building a terminal for exporting liquefied gas on the Black Sea coast. Compressed gas will be delivered from Georgia to the Romanian port of Constanta on tank vessels.
Kazakhstan regards this route as an option of delivery of liquefied gas to the world market.
Turkmenistan is also studying options for exporting liquefied gas through Azerbaijan and Georgia.
To participate in the project as a vendor, Turkmenistan could supply liquefied gas by the Caspian sea to Azerbaijan for its further transit through Georgia to Europe.

THE EFFECTS OF TRANSPORT ON THE ECOSYSTEM AND HUMAN HEALTH

    Trans Motauto World, Vol. 2 (2017), Issue 5, pg(s) 187-189

The growth rates vehicles pose a significant threat to the physical and chemical status of the atmosphere and negatively impact on human health and viability of other living organisms. The ecological status of airspace in the cities of the modern world, is determined by numerous factors, among which the leading position is taken by motor vehicles, during operation of which, along with the exhaust gases, more than 200 chemical compounds are emitted into the atmosphere.

The paper describes the results of studies of motor vehicles on highways adjacent to the territory of Kutaisi, from ecological standpoint.

As a realistic way for solving the problems would be the use of alternative fuels, rational organization and management of traffic flow, and the large-scale introduction of electric cars and hybrid motor vehicles.

PECULIARITIES OF REDUCING THE NUMBER OF CUSTOMS-TRANSPORT FORMALITIES UNDER CORDITIONS OF TIME AND CONVEYING DISTANT CONSTRAINTS

    Trans Motauto World, Vol. 2 (2017), Issue 4, pg(s) 152-154

Transport service in modern conditions includes not only cargo transfer itself from suppliers to customers, but also a large number of freight-forwarding, information, customs and transaction operations, cargo handling, insurance and protection services and so on. The introduction of modern logistics management into the customs clearance practice allows for increasing organizational-economic stability of transshipping processes. The paper dwells on the tendencies in the application of customs logistics for the purpose of reducing the number of the customs clearance procedures for vehicles and goods under conditions of time and conveying distant constraints.

THE NOISE FROM VEHICLES AND TRANSPORT FLOW

    Trans Motauto World, Vol. 2 (2017), Issue 1, pg(s) 19-20

Increases in road traffic lead to the expansion of areas of the acoustic discomfort, and the noises from vehicles acquire social importance. The noise as a set of sounds is characterized qualitatively and quantitatively by two main indicators: the sound pressure or intensity level, which have different effect on the human body. In addition, in terms of the effect on the human body, the prefence is given to the noise equivavlent level. The study of the noise equivalent level can be carried out in two ways. The first one consists in fact that at a given moment of time, at any point in space, there are summarized the noise level or sound energy intensity from all radiation sources, but another way implies summarizing the selected sound energy sources during a certain time period. So, in order to determine the noise equivalent level of one vehicle during that time period, which is required for passing a certain section, it is necessary to know those laws, which characterize traffic conditions and the calculated changes of the noise level in these conditions.

  • DRIVER HEALTH AND TRAFFIC SAFETY ON THE TOURIST ROUTES

    Trans Motauto World, Vol. 1 (2016), Issue 4, pg(s) 16-18

Based on the results of studies carried out in the field conditions, there are given some recommendations for drivers of vehicles moving on tourist routes with mountain road conditions, which will reduce likelihood of traffic accidents for them.

The paper also describes the results of studies carried out in accordance with the methodology of health check of drivers of vehicles moving on the tourist routes. As the evaluation parameters, there have been used several indexes as follows: the harmony of driver’s body structure and his/her physical development was evaluated by Quetelet-2index; death-birth and power indexes were used for evaluation of the power of the apparatus of external respiration and hand muscle strength, accordingly; the nature of nervous vegetal regulation was determined by means of systolic and diastolic pressure and chest compression frequency of hemodynamics indices; for evaluating the adaptation level by Kerdo index and Robinson index there was used the screening procedure.

Reliability of driver depends not only on his/her qualification and experience, but the state of his/her health and ability to work are of high importance as well.
