Statistical estimates of the probability of fail-safe functioning of freight wagons in the interval between repairs

    Trans Motauto World, Vol. 9 (2024), Issue 2, pg(s) 50-52

During exploitation wagons must fully implement the transportation process safely. Wagons spend their own technical resources in the process of exploitation, and therefore they need to be restored. During the process of moving, accumulated defects in the moving part, axle boxes, brake equipment and in other knots of wagons, and the number of failures in wagons depend on the reliability of the construction and on the quantity of kilometers that the wagons have run.

    Machines. Technologies. Materials., Vol. 18 (2024), Issue 3, pg(s) 91-93

The paper presents the results of a research focused on the application of laser surfacing of functional surfaces using an additve material in the form of a wire. Cladding is made in a single layer using a robot. The quality of the cladding layer was evaluated by ultrasonic inspection. Possible occurrence of internal defects was assessed. Macrostructures and microstructures were analyzed on metallographic sections using light microscopy. Influence of the used additive material and the cladding parameters on the microhardness behaviour in the individual parts of the test specimens was also evaluated.

    Innovations, Vol. 11 (2023), Issue 3, pg(s) 90-92

The paper presents the results of research aimed at determining the quality of renovation layers using laser technology. In order to repair and renovate shaped parts of molds for casting aluminum alloys under high pressure, samples of experimental welds were prepared on the base material quality 1.2343 (Dievar). The renovation layers were created using additional materials Dievar, UTP A 7002 and NIFIL NiCu7 res. NiCu7 with Dievar combination. The microstructures on the cross-sections of the deposits were checked using the light microscopy technique. The technique of scanning electron microscopy and semi-quantitative EDX microanalyses were analyzed distribution of alloys in deposits. The microhardness of the deposits was determined.

Quality evaluation of welded joints of various steel welded by GMAW technology

    Industry 4.0, Vol. 6 (2021), Issue 3, pg(s) 87-92

The paper presents the results of quality evaluation of weldments produced by a mutual combination of different steel grades. Weld joints were made using GMAW technology (method -135 ISO 4063). The type of welding parameters used for the quality of welded joints was monitored. The quality of welded joints was assessed using non-destructive tests. In non-destructive tests, the Visual test according to EN ISO 17637, the Penetration test with colour indication according to EN ISO 22476-12 was used to identify surface defects. The presence of internal errors was assessed by a radiation test according to EN ISO 17636-1. Within the destructive tests, the quality of the welds was assessed by a tensile test according to EN ISO 6892-1, by the test of brittleness of welds according to EN ISO 5173, the course of hardness according to EN ISO 6507-1 was determined on transverse cuts. The bending impact test according to EN ISO 9016 will determine the toughness of the weld metal and heat-affected areas. Metallographic analysis of welds according to EN ISO 17639 was performed on transverse metallographic sections using light microscopy. Based on the performed experiments, recommendations were set, or proposed changes in the welding procedures of the given steel grades.

Applicability of different modeling approaches to process quality management, according to the human-machine system

    Industry 4.0, Vol. 6 (2021), Issue 3, pg(s) 83-86

Quality is a process of continuous improvement or improvement of the processes creating the product. Our ability to manage quality characteristics has a significant impact on the depth of our knowledge of the process used for the desired transformation. The application of knowledge in process management depends on the dominant factor for management: human or machine. Each requires an appropriate form of transfer of knowledge. Depending on the type of “human-machine system”, it is possible to use various mathematical and logical tools to formalize the information. This article attempts to classify the types of mathematical and logical tools applicable to process management, depending on the “human-machine system” use.

Automated testing framework with browserstack integration

    Industry 4.0, Vol. 5 (2020), Issue 3, pg(s) 105-108

Nowadays ensuring high-quality software product requires a lot of testing efforts. Automated tests in the 21st century are a must. Whether it’s code peer-review, unit, integration, system or exploratory user testing – it all has to be done with given insurance and expertise! Therefore, we look to automate our testing where is conceivable. Most applications today have the equivalent of Web and Mobile versions for the same functionality, but different platforms of action in order to facilitate the users. Therefore, parallel testing of both subtypes is required to provide smooth maintenance and rapidity. Running as many builds as possible, including tests to ensure quality is essential when comes up to reliable software product and agile development. With the implementation of Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery tools, we guarantee a better way to deploy automated tests across multiple instances and execute them against those environments. BrowserStack is one common cloud solution to these requirements. It is a very powerful tool, which can be attached to our development process. This article explores detailed approach on the automation of cross-browser, device and compatibility testing in BrowserStack platform, using a custom extended automation framework to provide direct configuration output to this environment and give ease in the future Web and Mobile development.

  • Automated software testing framework “Stаssy”

    Industry 4.0, Vol. 4 (2019), Issue 4, pg(s) 171-174

Over the last two decades, software testing has expanded in terms of both the tools used to perform different types of activities and mind-set of the people using those tools. Automated testing involves use of strategies and instruments that perform testing activities of a software product and where the interference of a person is mainly related to the research of the results of these activities. Automated testing processes are popular because of the benefits that make them an indispensable tool in everyday work for testing activities. The main advantage of automation is the abstraction of rehearsal processes within the tested system. In this way, a complete separation of the human operations from the system is achieved, as only the functionality that needs to be programmed. This article presents the development of an automation-based testing framework “Stassy” – System Stable Testing, which supports and helps to implement easily new tests related to Web platforms. The implementation includes the following structure: Object repository, Functional libraries, Global variables and Constants, Data Provider, Test scripts, Configuration files, Recovery scenarios, Loggers, Clean-up scripts and Reporting mechanism. With the advantages of Page Object Pattern and using of the following technologies: Java programming language, JUnit and TestNG extended libraries. The created scripts represent automated acceptance, functional and non-functional tests in which Page Object is used to separate those tests into individual fragments and subsequently call them in a different order according to the automation requirements and business logic. We will track the overall preparation and creation of “Stassy” automated framework and explain the benefits of such approach.

METHODOLOGY FOR RATING QUALITY STANDARDS IN REGIONAL PASSENGER RAIL TRANSPORT

    Trans Motauto World, Vol. 3 (2018), Issue 3, pg(s) 127-130

Quality has a fundamental influence to the services in passenger transport. The main objective of transport is to satisfy customers’ (passengers’) requirements on the qualitative, flexible, fast and safe carriage of people and goods. Organisers of transport (public authority), providers of transport services and their customers have a different view on the perception of quality. This fact is influenced by unsystematic assessment to the quality measurement as well as by ignorance of the interaction of the transportation the peoples with the transport system. A basic element of transport service is the movement of the rolling stock with the passenger or goods from the start to end destination. In this point of the technological process of transport, the main bearer of the quality of transport services are the vehicles and the transport infrastructure. From the perspective of the vehicle, its operation-technical and utility properties are very important. From the perspective of transport infrastructure, the operating ratios and conditions are important. Due to the content of the quality concept it is not possible to focus only on the interaction of carriage and transport infrastructure. The paper is focussed on the quality evaluation of performance in regional passenger rail transport in relation to other modes of public transport. Hereby it is necessary to know the perception of quality services as well its value for the client (passenger). Consequently it is needed to set a permanent process of quality evaluation of the provided transport services. The paper is based on the premise that the customer interests present the public ordering body (authority) of the public transportation services.
