The study of the structure and physicomechanical characteristics of carbon nanostructures, lubricants and cooling liquids was carried out by methods of scanning electron microscopy, atomic force microscopy, IR spectroscopy, physicomechanical and physicochemical analysis. Tribotechnical tests were carried out on a friction machine operating according to the “sphere – plane” scheme. The possibility of modifying various liquid media with nanosized carbon particles of various composition, structure, production technology, including those obtained by the method of self-propagating high-temperature synthesis, has been studied. The studies carried out made it possible to establish general trends in the implementation of the synergistic effect in liquid matrices differing in structure, polarity of macromolecules, and molecular weight.

In the paper consider materials for the rapid prototyping (RP) of experimental samples of filtering materials with an orthotropic structure based on woven nets (FMWN) assembled together with test-form and with using of 3D printing. RP made it possible to reduce the labor intensity of the process, primarily by eliminating the operation of sealing samples when using a traditional test form, as well as making the test form and the samples themselves. The data obtained allowed us to conclude that the use of 3D-printing is promising in further work for the manufacture of test form for studying the properties of filtering materials.

Titanium Ti-6-4 alloy coated with Ni-base material was obtained via Blended Elemental Powder Metallurgy approach by sintering a mixture of laminated powders. Microstructure and phase composition of obtained laminated material were studied, and formation of Ti2Ni phase and multicomponent phase (Ti, Ni, Al, V, C) with E93 crystal cell of space group 227: Fd-3m was established. The intermetallic melt deeply permeated into the Ti-6-4 material at sintering temperature (1250°C) higher than Ti2Ni melting point (942°C), and a dense gradient structure formed. The microstructure, phase composition and properties of obtained gradient material are discussed in detail.

In this work are presented the development of simulation metods of analysis the phase-structural transformations and properties in alloy steels. The analytical dependencies of this simulation were applied to the calculation of ferritic, pearlitic and bainitic transformations in carbon and alloy steels. To calculate the amount of martensite, the authors used a new equation that has been successfully used in others works too. Based on the developed regression model, isothermal and structural diagrams for 20CrNi4V and 25Cr2Mo1V steels have been constructed. The analysis is performed of the aerial quenching of tools from alloy steels 20CrNi4V and 25Cr2Mo1V, according to the recommended heat treatment schedules in the tools production. For steels 20CrNi4V and 25Cr2Mo1V, it is possible to obtain a bainitic structure in a wide range of cooling rate. Corrections of heat treatment schedule were proposed.

The results of development of the technology for manufacturing samples of insulators made of alumina ceramic with an aluminum oxide content of up to 95% are presented. The maximum tensile strength of the produced insulators has been investigated. The structures of the chip of the ceramic insulator surface have been obtained. It is shown that a change in the aluminum oxide content by 8-10% leads to an increase in the strength properties of the product by 1.5 times. The developed technology can be used to produce high-strength dielectric products, for example, antenna rod insulators, applied in the field of electrical engineering, radio engineering and other industries.

The investigation results of the production process of powder permeable materials (PPM) by forming thin permeable layers by means of ion-plasma sputtering method in a vacuum with the use of removable agents have been presented. The method makes it possible to obtain a continuous coating on the surface of the porous substrate. The layer formation on the surface of the porous substrate is provided by the use of the removable agent. After its removal, the layer sputtered on its surface remains an independent unit in the structure of the twolayer permeable material. The coating applied to the substrate has an open porosity.

The report focuses on the process of obtaining closed cell aluminum foam by introducing a composite material obtained by high energy mechanical treatment in a planetary mill into the melt. In contrast to known methods, the paper describes the foaming performed by introducing compressed precursors based on aluminum into the melt. Air-atomized aluminum powder and titanium hydride were used as raw materials for the production of precursors, AK5M2 silumin melt was used for the basis. Implementation of these works does not require the creation of a protective atmosphere and equipment for hot pressing. Photographs of the samples’ appearance and study results have been presented. It has been shown that the method of introducing mechanocomposites into the melt may be used for the manufacture of closed cell aluminum foam.
